Learn about your voting options and make a plan. Whether you vote early, absentee, or on Election Day, here’s what you need to know to ensure your ballot is counted.

Absentee & Early Voting

Absentee voting begins Friday, September 18, 2026. Early in-person voting begins Friday, October 16, 2026.

Please note: You no longer need a special reason to vote absentee or to take advantage of early voting.

Absentee Voting

Beginning Friday, September 18, 2026, Alexandria School District residents can request an absentee ballot. Completed ballots must be received by 5 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, to be counted.

Early In-Person Voting

Early in person voting begins Friday, October 16, 2026 at the  Douglas County Auditor–Treasurer Office

Regular Hours: Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Extended Early Voting Hours

  • Saturday, October 24: 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 27: 8 a.m.–7 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 31: 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
  • Sunday, November 1: 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
  • Monday, November 2: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.

Please note: You do not need to complete an absentee ballot application to participate in early in-person voting.
